Heading to La Forêt in Metrotown – the neighbourhood, not the mall – is like watching Burnaby’s past and present collide. Our car slows, pauses at a sentimental relic of the 90s – Bread Garden on Central Boulevard. You might know it as a chain that later re-fashioned and rebranded itself as BG Urban Cafe.
