Aperture Coffee Bar is now on Main St in Riley Park. You heard right: it’s their second location. The friendly barista asks if we’ve been to their first at 243 West Broadway.

We have. Has he worked at the other location? He nods; we clue in. Charming smile materializes. He asks our names introduces himself as Ryul Kwan, Aperture Coffee Bar’s owner.

Review of Parker Street Café & Roasters: Our Search for Vancouver’s Best Coffee

You’re looking at what might be the most secret café and roastery in Vancouver: Parker Street Café & Roasters in East Van. It’s Stop 87 in our weekly Search for Vancouver’s Best Coffee.

We begin our journey to Parker Street Café & Roasters by Mike pulling the car out, saying, “Do you want the direct route, or the side streets?”

My answer is always the back route. He expertly navigates the car through blocks that I’m not particularly familiar with, but these are the ones he knows without a map, he’s got a reliable internal GPS for East Van, turns left here, makes a right there and finally pulls up at Parker and Windermere St. We’re close to the PNE.
